“I got $1,400 savings by calling you. Every time I learn different things where I can save money.”
Next best action
Send business cards to Sherry immediately as promised. Set a calendar reminder to email Sherry 5–10 days before the June 2026 cruise final payment date as a courtesy check-in, and flag her profile to contact her as soon as her flight itinerary is issued so she can make the AirPlus decision within the change-window timeframe.
Full analysis
What happened

Sherry called to clarify onboard credit and voucher amounts on two Viking River cruises she'd booked. She was initially alarmed because Taylor had mentioned onboard credit ($600) but not vouchers ($800)—a total of $1,400 in benefits that Sherry felt she hadn't been fully informed about. Taylor clarified the breakdown and confirmed the numbers were correct. The call then moved into logistics: Sherry provided her banking information for final payment, requested business cards be sent immediately, asked about waiting for flight details before deciding on the AirPlus add-on (which Taylor confirmed she could do for a $350 change fee), and discussed how Pavlus's referral bonus program and promotional code access compare favorably to AAA and direct Viking booking. The call ended positively with Sherry thanking Taylor and saying she'd email with flight itinerary decisions.

Emotional read

Sherry started anxious and suspicious—almost having a heart attack over the voucher miscommunication—but warmed significantly as Taylor clarified the benefits. By mid-call she became engaged and enthusiastic, asking detailed follow-up questions and praising the savings. She ended the call in a satisfied, confident state, even joking about checking her Viking portal regularly.

Emotional arc through the call

Started defensive and alarmed by the voucher surprise, but rapidly warmed to genuine enthusiasm and trust as Taylor clarified the benefits and walked through logistics competently.

How customer sees Pavlus
  • positive · praised Pavlus for saving her $1,000 more than AAA would have provided, with $400 onboard credit vs. $1,400 total
  • positive · noted that her prior travel agent 'didn't save me near what you're saving me' and appreciated learning about Pavlus options
  • positive · appreciated that Pavlus can access and apply promotional codes, where 'Viking reps are not allowed to give out the code'
  • positive · satisfied with referral program structure and the $250 post-cruise bonus mentioned by friend Chrissy
  • negative · initially felt misled that Taylor had not mentioned vouchers in the prior conversation, only onboard credit
Process friction
  • prior agent failed to mention $800 voucher component when discussing onboard credit, causing customer confusion and alarm on this call
  • customer had provided two different bank accounts (one for deposit, one for insurance) and was uncertain which would be used for final payment, requiring clarification
Value perception

Sherry stated she got '$1,000 more calling you, cause I would have gotten $400 from AAA and it would have been just onboard credit,' and noted that 'every time I go on Viking I learn different things where I can save money' and Pavlus is delivering significantly more than her first travel agent. She emphasized 'it always pays to call.'

Customer: So hello?
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Hi, this is Taylor with Pavlis. How are you? Hi, I wanna, good. I wanna clarify a couple of things, so we're giving you vouchers and onboard credit.
Customer: Hi, Taylor. I'm fine.
Customer: Yup.
Customer: Okay, I saw, I looked at that and I said this can't be right.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): It is right. So because it's technically two cruises we're able to give you double the onboard credit. So instead of the 300 it is 600 and then because we're able, because two cruises we're able to double the voucher. So, I gave you the correct onboard credit amount originally but I only told you 400 and vouchers and it's actually 800. So.
Customer: Actually, actually, almost had a heart attack because you didn't tell me about the vouchers we only talked about onboard credit.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Really. I feel like I okay, well good and.
Customer: Because I told you I got, I told you I got onboard credit from AAA and it would have been four would have been 400 and you said, oh, no, I can give you 600 and then I did, we didn't even discuss vouchers. So, I'm like, well, well, so I.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Oh, my gosh.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): So yeah, we're giving you an additional $800 essentially. So surprise just kidding.
Customer: So based basically by calling, by calling you I got $1,400 savings.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yes, yes. And remember our onboard credit is refundable. So it is kind of like cash, we talked a little bit, I think about that too.
Customer: Yeah, if I don't use it on board I get a refund.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yes, that is correct and then to answer, is that amazing?
Customer: Oh, my god, this is.
Customer: Yes.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Good. I'm really glad to answer your other questions. Your bus you will get business cards before you leave. So those are already in the system to be sent to you prior to your departure. If you want them now I can have them sent out now. It's completely up to you.
Customer: Well, I thought if I had them now then maybe when I go on my cruise in 2026, I would have them with me. I'm not going on that one until June, it's a year from now so.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Oh, yeah, yeah, I will have them.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): That's fine. Let me have them sent to you. That's a very easy task. So I'll have them sent to you and then your other question about the payment so we will actually make your final payment on your behalf.
Customer: Okay.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): To Viking. So, you're not paying Pabst we are making it easy on you and we're paying Viking for you now since your cruise is so far out why you're going to get a reminder about five to ten days prior to final payment. Why don't you can use that as a reminder to give me a call. You don't have to give me something now. If you're not sure what you're gonna use.
Customer: Mm-hmm.
Customer: Well, actually, I am definitely sure what I'm gonna use. It's just, it's just that when I originally put down the deposit, I had my book in front of me. So I gave him that E E. Thing. I saved a whole dollar and something. And then and then when I bought the insurance, I gave him the number of my savings account which is the one that I am.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Oh.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Oh, I gotcha. Okay. Did you set up automatic payment by chance?
Customer: Yeah.
Customer: Not that I'm aware of. I know he, I know he told me that he could use the one that I originally used for, you know, final payment, but I don't think I didn't tell him to use it, cause I knew I was gonna use a different account.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay. Well, if you want to give it to me now you can and I can put it on your profile for final payment, otherwise you can call us later and, and before your final payment, it's up to you.
Customer: So I.
Customer: Okay, I think I'll just I just assume give it to you now, so you have it.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): That's fine. Yeah, absolutely. So this is going to be an E. E.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): And.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): What is the name on the account? Is it yours?
Customer: It's mine and then, and my husband so it says, it says sherry and then M. for middle initial cater.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay. Okay, and what is that routing number?
Customer: 314-074-2269.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): And the account number?
Customer: 01169858.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Perfect. Okay, I will put that as your final payment method real quick and then you're good to go.
Customer: Okay, and I have one more question.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Of course.
Customer: When we were talking about how I had the problem with the airline thing and what they didn't give us enough enough time between flights. Can I wait until they tell me what my flights are going to be on the standard biking air, and then if I don't like it add-on the AirPlus and change it.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yes.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yes, so how I would go about that is as soon as you get that flight itinerary, I would make the decision because essentially once they send you the flight itinerary they can it that at anytime. Once it's ticketed it's about a $350 charge to change. So yes, you can do that but I would just make a very quick decision on if you want to add it or not. And let me know.
Customer: Uh-huh, right.
Customer: Right.
Customer: Okay. Yeah, I, I'll just look at the time that give me between flights and if it seems reasonable, I'll just leave it. And if it doesn't look like we're like, it's reasonable like having to go through customs and everything internationally then, then I'll change it to AirPlus.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Right.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah, that sounds great. Yeah, and let me know and I'd be more than happy to, to do that for you.
Customer: Okay, that sounds good.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Alright. Well you know where to find me if you think of anything else but.
Customer: Yeah, and, you know, I'm learning every time I go on Viking I learn different things where I can save money and the, I mean, the first time I went on Viking I save nothing cause I didn't know anything and now I'm reading, now, I'm reading Facebook groups and I'm learning things and then you know, so I went to my first travel agent and she didn't save me near what you're saving me. So, now I'm all set if I weren't, you know, if.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Oh, yeah, yeah.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Right.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Good. Yeah, absolutely. We pay out bonuses for referrals just so you know. So, if you, yeah, yeah, it's not great.
Customer: I went to your page, I went to your page and read it. So I know that Chris Chrisy who I met, who was very nice we get $250 after I have my cruise.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): You will, absolutely, yes, so keep that in mind I have people, we have somebody, we actually have a client who's one of our biggest referrals and she's gotten thousands of dollars from us cause, cause she's just sent people so she had, she makes her own money just on our referral bonus program the loan. So it's a thing, so, yeah.
Customer: Oh, wow.
Customer: Well.
Customer: I don't have that many friends and family that travel and do, do these things. But, but I will keep it in mind. Cause it's a nice little thing that you do and I'm happy you know when I asked her about the.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): It is, yeah, and you're gonna, yeah, yeah, and you'll forget about it and then you'll just check shows up, so.
Customer: Yeah. Yeah. So, when I asked Chrissy, what kind of benefits she got from you? She really didn't that it was much more than was getting from AAA on my next cruise and, or on the cruise we were on. So, I thought, well, maybe I should just call and check it out even though it's not that much more well, I think $1,000 more is actually what I got calling you, cause I would have gotten $400 from AAA and it would have been just, and it would have been just onboard credit.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Right.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah, absolutely. It always pays the call for sure. And that's the thing too, is. I may not always have the, you know, normally, I can beat or, or at least match a price but if I can, I tell you, but it's always worth a shot, right.
Customer: So.
Customer: Yeah, definitely. So and, and, oh, while, before I hang up, like I get, I got the code from the special letter they sent me cause I had another cruise booked. Yeah, and, and of course, I get a million mailings and emails from Viking with all these codes.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yes.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yes, yup. Yup.
Customer: And do you have the codes or do I have to research it? Oh, okay, because.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): I do.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): No, I do. So is you see something in a booklet? Usually it either has the code or has the name of the sale and you can always provide that to me. But I usually like let's say that you call me and you're like I saw something and I want to price it out. I usually go to my marketing portal that has all the codes and I try the best one so that's how that usually works.
Customer: Uh-huh.
Customer: Mm-hmm.
Customer: Okay, cause I know that the Viking, I've heard from people that the biking reps are not allowed to give out the code, right? So, that's so much better, so.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Well I can though.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah, absolutely! Well, let me know how I can help but you're all set and like if you think of anything, but I would say as soon as you get that flight itinerary just shoot me an email and say, you know, or name what you wanna do.
Customer: Oh, yeah, I'll figured it out the day I get it or that I checked it and and as the date comes up I always go to my Viking whatever void and check it out, so.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Good.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah, absolutely. And that's the nice thing is you still have full control of that. So you don't need to call me for absolutely every little thing like a short version. But really and truly it just comes down to like when they have to talk cost that's when you would call me.
Customer: Okay. Alright. Oh, I, you know, I keep thinking of these questions the onboard credit, I know you said it comes later the vouchers that you're applying do I will, I be paying Viking the full amount and then I get money back later from you or how does that work?
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Nope, so the vouchers come out as a discount so it's already on your booking and you won't pay that $800, it's already taken off.
Customer: Okay, that's what I thought but I just wanna double-check on that okay, great. Great. Alright, thanks.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah, absolutely.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Awesome! Well let me know if you need anything else but you're all set. Thanks for calling.
Customer: Okay, okay. Okay, Taylor, thank you, bye-bye.
Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Uh-huh, bye-bye.
