Send itemized quotes (with Pavlus perks breakdown) to Joan and Jim by end of business today. Call Joan back by Friday or offer her a Saturday call slot (when Nick is available) to collect the $50 per-stateroom deposit and travel insurance premium payment, and confirm stateroom location preference.
Full analysis
What happened

Joan called to confirm a decision to book a Viking river cruise for April 25th for herself, James, and Linda in a deluxe veranda cabin. Nick confirmed group details, discussed cabin category options, airfare (from Chicago via O'Hare with $800 discount), the AirPlus program, and travel insurance. Joan is coordinating with other family members (brother-in-law and siblings) who may join; Nick agreed to link referrals to her reservation. Joan expressed willingness to provide a deposit immediately, but Nick suggested sending quotes first via email. The call ended with a commitment to reconnect within 72 hours or by Friday, with Nick agreeing to work Saturdays if needed and providing backup contact info through the office. No payment was processed in the call, but a clear next action was established.

Emotional read

Joan was confident and warm throughout, opening the call in a cheerful mood. She became slightly frustrated when needing to clarify details with family members and expressed mild skepticism about premium cabin locations, but remained pragmatic and solution-focused. By the end, she was eager to move forward and appreciative of Nick's flexibility on deposit timing.

Emotional arc through the call

Started warm and decisive, encountered minor friction when clarifying family details and cabin preferences, but maintained confidence and ended eager to finalize the booking.

How customer sees Pavlus

  • positive · Customer appreciated the flexibility: 'I work Saturdays' and backup office support available 7 days a week

  • “I'll get this all over to you as soon as I can”
  • “we can maybe get deposited tomorrow if you guys want to or today”

Signals the agent didn't act on:

  • customer said 'I can give you a deposit right now' and 'I can give you a credit card,' but agent declined and deferred to sending quotes first instead of taking the opportunity to process payment immediately

Customer: Hello. I'm good, I'm good. It's a beautiful morning. I was just out for a walk. So, anyway, we have made a decision. Well, I'm, we're in Wisconsin, so.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Hey, Joan, how you doing?
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Good. Well, I was.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Perfect, perfect, I got to beat the heat in Arizona early right?
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Oh, okay. Well very nice it's probably be beautiful morning there.
Customer: Yeah. It is, well, it's kinda, hung up, it's got fog and damp and, you know, humidity, so I think we're going to get a storm maybe later, but, you know, that's how it goes.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay, yeah.
Customer: So, but it's all good. So, anyway we made a decision we are going April 25th.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Alrighty, and this is gonna be for you and James and Linda, correct?
Customer: Yeah, governor. Correct.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Alrighty, so.
Customer: And we're going to do deluxe veranda.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): W-2 six and I apologize I know you just told me, but what was that date again for next year? Did you say April?
Customer: April 25th it works pretty well. I mean we usually come home from Arizona, they come home from Florida about that time. So we'll just come home and be home, you know, and then stay home. Otherwise, if we were to go in March and we really considered it then, you know, we would fly out of Phoenix which is a pain and then, you know, have to go and go back to Arizona and so no, we're just gonna, they feel the same way. So anyway April 25th we're gonna do deluxe Feranda.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): April 20th.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay. Now between the different categories of the deluxe veranda, do you have a preference on which one we go with or would you just be interested in? Okay.
Customer: I never, we never explore them, we never explore the categories. Because the first, the first turtle was the date.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Gotcha, gotcha. So we can always move state rooms at anytime so long as the availability is there, they do have a Delenda is almost all the categories, the most affordable option is the DV six which is a guarantee Branda, so they won't assign you a state room until you embark on the ship or close to it. Would you be interested in something like that or we can move it to a DV five which would be the next affordable option where you could then select a specific state room.
Customer: You know what? I'm clueless. So maybe I better just.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Well, what I would suggest if you're traveling, your sister, do you guys have an interest in being close to each other lawyer on the ship?
Customer: Yeah, we do, and, and now we, my brother-in-law sent out a email. There's, there's five siblings. So he sent out an email to them and said that we are, the bom grind Shanahan are gonna do this with anybody like to join us. This, is, this, is the date now how do you spell your name? Is it DA ZZ? Or is it D-R-A okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah, B-A-Z-Z-B-A-Z-Z-O-N-I.
Customer: Okay, we gave him your name and said a couple of them I don't think my brother has but Linda and Kate both have traveled with Pavlus so, we told them if they're interested to call and join us. So, anyway that if you get a call and, and the name would be the names would be Moody and Nicholas N-I-C-K-L-A-S. And the last one would be gather GA, SSE, R if you get a call from any of those, you know that they're connected to this reservation.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah, yeah. And make sure they mentioned your name as well too. So that way I can get everybody linked up and get you put down for the referral bonus for them if they're new guest of ours. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna send this off to my contact with Viking. And I'll work on getting some price holds placed for you and James, and you and John and James and Linda today. And I'll send you an email. Once I get that all done it'll have the itemized invoice from biking and then also from Pavlus. That will include our perks that we offer on top of the Viking promotions that we're gonna take advantage of today. Just to confirm your email address. Is it Shanna J. @charter.net.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Okay, okay.
Customer: Correct F-H-A-N-A-H-J @charter.net.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Perfect. Just real quick. So that way I've got all my information correct for a John's email. Would you happen to know that by chance, so we could try to see if he's a past guest if I can to get that benefit added.
Customer: Oh, my brother. Well I know that gar and Mody are because they have traveled with us before and I'm not and I don't think go ever has in that name is Nicholas N-I-C-K-L-A-S I don't just a minute and see if I have it.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay, okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay, perfect.
Customer: On my computer is slow this morning.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): That's okay.
Customer: Sorry, I'm just poky here. It's not good.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): No, that's okay.
Customer: Yeah, bill's email is WJ Nicholas N-I-C-K-L-A-S @gmail.com.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): And that's the one of the other new guest that might be coming along with you guys.
Customer: That would be my brother, and he goes by bill and moody. They have traveled, that would be James moody, they have traveled with you before. You I know that you have their profile.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): And then when we're making this price hold for you that I'm gonna send over would you want me to include any pre or post trip extensions with biking for you on the quote that I sent?
Customer: The.
Customer: Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): We don't need to know right now. We can always add those as well at a later date.
Customer: Well, I, we kinda did look at those and my sister has a neighbor lives right next door who is grease and goes to grace every year or whatever. And she said you don't need to spend more than a day in the essence. So anyway, the only thing we even mentioned last night was that Greek traditions which is two nights and not cleaning over something clear. So anyway, that way but I, at this point I don't think so.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay. That's fine. We can add those whenever if you guys want a later date, just be advised that those pre and post trips could potentially sell out cause there are some limited availability to him. Yeah.
Customer: I'm aware I missed one. Yeah, I don't, I'm not interested in out and I'm not interested in the classic grease and then and, and we'll talk about it soon if we need to, but other than that.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Just a heads-up. You mentioned the Greek traditions one I'm showing right now for this sale date that those are actually sold out for an extension through biking. If you wanted, I could also after we get through all of this. My guest relations team could also work on building an independent pre your post trip for you. If you'd like where we can help book a hotel transfers and any maybe independent tours and excursions you'd like to do if you wanted to build your own kind of private pre your post trip. So just wanted to put that out there, that's an option we could pursue if you guys would like to.
Customer: Okay, okay.
Customer: Okay, that can be discussed but yeah, I don't know, I am like this.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): For, and you want to do Viking airfare as well. Correct? On this booking?
Customer: I would think so, yes. And, and according to this there's a.
Customer: There is a discount on it $800 per couple.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah, so and you in, you and John will be fine out of Phoenix, correct?
Customer: You know, if I have Chicago and so, bom Gartners.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Out of Chicago. Okay, and would that, okay, do you have a preferred airport in Chicago or D. or midway?
Customer: Mm-hmm oh no, you'd have to do international, you would have to do ohair.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): E and then a couple of more things I wanna just make sure I get go over with you before we move forward with everything. Viking has what's called their AirPlus program, it's $150 additional per guest, and it allows you almost immediate access to the airfare, and then you can select and make as many customized changes as you'd like with the air fair through Viking. If you don't do the AirPlus you would just get assigned air fair 120 to ninety days prior to your trip I recommend the AirPlus or my guess who are more specific in particular on what they would have from an air pair standpoint. Would you want me to add that onto the price quote or do you want to just go with the basic biking airfare? Okay.
Customer: Not right now I just have to commit I, yeah, I just have to communicate with them, she would have an opinion I don't have a, I don't have a clue what the airfare would be.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay. Okay, fair enough.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah. Okay, that makes sense then. And then would you want me to add travel protection through biking on these quotes that I sent over.
Customer: But I have, we both will have to insurance.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): So, yes or no, on the adding the trial protection. Okay.
Customer: Oh, I would say yes, because I don't think I might as well have it two biking.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah, so just to let you know about that too. If we, if I when I send you over these quotes and if you wanna move forward with depositing on the trips, I would require a $50 deposit for each state room. And then, they would also need to collect payment of the premium for the trial protection as well at that time. Just to give you a heads-up on it.
Customer: Okay, okay, so I'm here it's who was it? I don't know they were advertising the ad. I saw $25 deposit. Not that it makes that bigger difference but so I'm just amused as the difference.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm, yeah, it's $25 per person. So if it's a state room with two people then it'd be $50 total, so.
Customer: Okay. Okay. Yeah, I just, what I thought it was, okay and plus you pay the insurance upfront.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm that's correct.
Customer: And why is that?
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): So, any travel vendor, if you do travel protection with them, you have to pay for and purchase a travel protection at the time of adding it on. So that way that you know, that way that you're covered for the conditions that they might allow for with the trial protection. So, all the vendors would require purchase of the premium upfront whenever you add it onto the booking if you wanted to, we could wait and add protection on up until time of final payment. But with Viking specifically that excludes the coverage of any preexisting medical condition for the travel protection, then.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Okay. Well, I know we need to do it you know, I just need to communicate a little more. I want you to re, I want you to reserve it and I want you know, lock it in. So, that's, that part we know you know, some of these decisions we just kind of made on the fly and but want to get it booked. So, yeah.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah, yeah.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm, yeah.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Perfect. I think this is a good starting point, cause it's gonna give it, give you a lot of good information then to discuss with the rest of the people who might be interested in your group. So let, let me get these built.
Customer: Yeah, well, I just decided that I could have called them and said okay, we're talking about doing this, of these days to the state or whatever and I said, but, you know, what? I had emailed my brother and, and said to him or text him and said, you know, we're talking about doing this. The either one of these trips look interesting and he said, I'll talk. Oh, yeah, he said, I've talked to Debbie. Well, I never got back to me. So finally, I just said to Jim and Linda if we want to do this we're gonna book it and if anybody wants us to come they can, they're on their one cause it's just, I just don't need to do worry about all that. They can do it themselves. So I will communicate with Linda today and I know that at some point we definitely well, I had insurance and but I will, you know, we can do that.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm yeah, absolutely. Yeah.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay, so I'm gonna.
Customer: So and I will to communicate with her about about the plus.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Oh, I'm sorry.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay, well, I also out to my Viking person to get this taken care of for us she's west coast, so it'll be a few hours until she starts her day. But I will get this all put together and then once I have the quotes done, I will send the email to everybody involved for right now for these two state rooms and that's gonna be a good jumping off point for us. The price hold only gonna be good for 72 hours. So, if we need more time to discuss it, that's totally fine. I can always hold price again for you, just be advised that what I send over.
Customer: That's okay.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: No, I this but this is decided. So hold it, cause I'm not, we're not planning to change anything about what we decided. The only thing you need to know now is it decide on the state room and here again, I don't know the difference in, in prices for what we're choosing. You know, at this point if it's the same, if it's the same room configuration, it's a difference between four as well, you know, is it better be a, a higher floor or a lower floor?
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm. Yup.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): The higher up you go in the delux category is going to be in more premium locations. So typically, yeah, she'd be as you go up in price for the deluxe Verano. You'd be located more, more mid ship and and more higher, higher on the ship itself.
Customer: Why do I want to do that? Okay. Cause I have no, we have done several river trips but I'm not done or an ocean cruise. So you know, it's like, why do I want to do that?
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay, mm-hmm, yeah.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah, that's really just more of a personal preference for the guest. Some people like to be higher up on the ship, they like to be more located in specific areas of the ship me personally, you know. I don't necessarily care where my rooms located at, cause I don't like to spend a lot of time in my room, when I am on a cruise. So, it's really more of a personal personal preference when it comes to, you know, decision on location where you're at, you know. So long as I'm on for me, yeah, I'm on, I'm on the ship. I'm happy. So that's really just more an individual type of preference.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: That was totally the decision last night and doing the pent house veranda, it's like, I'm not gonna, why do I want all this because I'm not gonna spend any time in my room anyway if I'm gonna Desi decks and lounges any whatever, so that's kind of how we feel about it as well. We want to be on the ship. And we did a, we did a river cruise with some friends that wanted to be in the lowest leve my husband, and I said we'll never do that again but we only did it because that's what they wanted. So anyway it's kinda, it doesn't matter to us. I guess we're on the ship and yeah, okay. I will communicate and we will talk again within seventy we think well to this Friday. I am, yeah, I'm out of town next week, all week.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay, yeah.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Mm-hmm, yeah.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah. Today's Friday.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Customer: I'll see what I can do today. I'll be gone next week so Linda will be around.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah, okay, I'll get this over to you as soon as I can. I do work Saturdays just so you're aware. And then I'm off Sundays and I'm off Sundays and Mondays. I'm here from 11:00 AM eastern to 6:00 PM eastern tomorrow. So we can you know, maybe get deposited tomorrow, if you guys want to or today. And then I'll, when I send over my quotes to you I'll put in our offices are seven days a week. So if you want to move forward with this on a day that I'm not working during business hours, you can call my reception team and one of my coworkers can also assist with doing the deposit for you as well while I'm out.
Customer: Oh, okay. Okay. That's good.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Yup.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Is.
Customer: Yeah, what we'll do that, we're gonna get that done because like I said, we've decided on this and I can give you a deposit right now. Does that matter and give you a credit card, I can't.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Well, I appreciate that. Yeah, and I appreciate that but let's, let's give you quotes done first and I'll send you over an email and then I work today until 6:30 PM eastern. So, I'm here you know, for the rest of the day.
Customer: Okay. Okay, I will speak with Linda and we'll talk about. Are you sending them an email as well?
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yes, I will. So, I want to get these quotes done first and then I will send you an email with the information to for the for the quotes.
Customer: Yeah, we'll send it to them as well cause I know I think it's a Gmail. I can give it to you.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Yeah, I've got, their on their profile I've got J. Bom 777 at Gmail and then Elam ten @aol.com.
Customer: No, she doesn't use, send it to Jim. Send it to Jim. Linda doesn't use L-A-O-L anymore. So send it to Jim and he'll get it cause he pays close attention to us. He's already, he's on site pad, alright, okay, perfect.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Okay. Okay, that sounds like a plan.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Perfect. Well, thanks for taking my call today and I'll get this all over to you as soon as I can.
Customer: Okay, great. Thank you, have a nice day. Bye.
Agent (Nick Bazzoni): Alright, bye. You too.
