Confirm the pre-night hotel booking in Papeete within 2–3 weeks and send finalized itinerary with dates and hotel details. When Kevin moves to Seattle in the coming months, request his new mailing address in writing to update the booking and ensure all correspondence reaches him.
Full analysis
What happened

Kevin called to follow up on a trip booking he made earlier in the week with agent Fi. He has already booked a New Zealand tour (Feb 14–27) with a two-night hotel layover in Papeete, followed by a Windstar cruise departing March 1st. A deposit of approximately $2,598 was processed. Pam confirmed that the pre-night hotel will be added once the booking is finalized, clarified a 7% airline discount (about $2,325 savings) if Pavlus books airfare, and addressed a question about whether the 7% discount applies to his separately booked United flights (it does not). The call shifted into personal conversation about Kevin's relocation from Reno to Spokane, recent family losses, and airport logistics. Kevin committed to updating his address with Pavlus once the move is complete. No major friction or open items remain; the booking is progressing on a standard timeline.

Emotional read

Kevin is warm, personable, and relaxed throughout the call. He is comfortable and chatty, shifting easily between trip logistics and personal life updates (family losses, relocation). He demonstrates trust in Pam and Pavlus, asking clarifying questions without frustration and joking about snacks. His emotional tone remains upbeat and conversational, not transactional.

Emotional arc through the call

Kevin started the call focused and transactional (deposit confirmed, discount details), then gradually opened up into personal storytelling about his mother's passing, relocation to Seattle, and family changes—shifting from business to genuine conversation. Pam met him warmly, and the tone remained consistently friendly and collaborative.

How customer sees Pavlus
  • positive · praised Fi for explaining the deal structure and pre-night hotel inclusion; trusted the process enough to place deposit same day
  • positive · comfortable asking Pam clarifying questions about discount mechanics and airline ticket booking without hesitation
  • positive · told Pam 'thanks for checking in' and committed to providing updated address, indicating he sees Pavlus as ongoing relationship, not one-off transaction
Value perception

Kevin saw value in Pavlus's ability to move quickly ('I looked at it Monday, it said limited, so that's when I called Pavlus') and to offer discounts not visible elsewhere ('ask about the special price discount that you won't see on your talk thing'). He appreciates the bundling and coordination service, though he already independently booked United airfare for the African leg, suggesting he is also comparison-shopping.

Agent (Pam Chavez): Yeah, yeah, it is mm-hmm that'll be, that'll be, that'll be put on the booking as soon as it's, you know, completely finalized and stuff at this point, it's not finalized and stuff, so.
Customer: Yeah, that's, yeah. And then she said on the invoice it said, ask about the special lice discount that you won't see on your talk thing. So, I know you guys.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Right, and that's me booking your airline tickets for you. If I book your airline tickets for you, I can turn around and offer you seven percent which is seven percent of the 33180. So it's like, about 2325 something like.
Customer: Yeah, okay.
Customer: Okay, yup we what we're gonna do is we're gonna tie that in with are we doing a Windstar to heat cruise? So I'm gonna, I'm gonna fly to Auckland. I'm gonna do the.
Agent (Pam Chavez): That. Oh, nice. Okay. Okay.
Customer: Top tour and it ends actually on February twenty seventh of 27 which is a long way away, then I gonna fly from Auckland to pop papa E. day which is a hi, yeah, on the twenty seventh and you actually get there on the twenty seventh cause it's a different freaking across the gate line and then the to, not the, to Windstar. Crew starts March 1st, so I'm going to get a hotel room for two nights and up the E. day and then fly home from papa eda. So that's my plan so we can work on it air fair way back, way down the pike. I know that's like 1415 months away or something.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Right.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Happy T. right mm-hmm.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Yeah.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Nice. No, nice.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Right.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Okay, so you did you already made the deposit.
Customer: Yes she got my credit card and it actually got processed by my bank for like 2600 or something, I'm not sure what it was, yeah, something like it. Yup, yup. She, and she, and she got, yeah, you know, the to protection plan or where the heck they call that. Yeah. And I had another question but I already forgot what the hell it is. So, I don't know.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Okay, okay.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Okay, you're 2598 okay. I just wasn't a hundred percent sure what the.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Mm-hmm mm-hmm yeah, good idea especially on a mm-hmm.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Oh, shoot. Well, let's see your email says book a tour. I have a couple of questions let uh-huh.
Customer: Oh, yeah, okay, yeah. Oh, the reason I booked it so quick is I went to their website like I've been checking it like once a week the last month and that February 14th was sold out and I wanted to try to sync it up with the Windstar. Insurer. Shit, I looked at it on Monday and it said limited. So that's when I called Pavlus. And, and they sent me the Fe, and, and fear said, yeah. So, I said, well, I was gonna wait, key, got back to work. They said you're come back Wednesday sometime so but then I said, now I put a deposit down, let's, let's get this and it, it's sold out now. So I guess we get the last two seats, I don't know.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Yeah, mm-hmm.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Yeah.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Alright, good, good, good answer.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Right.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Hey, good for you. Okay, cool well that's good alright, no you know I saved my vacation time for the end of the year you know and I just, so I just wrapped yeah, yeah, since you know did did make noise. That is, that is exactly right.
Customer: Yeah, yeah, so, yeah, cool. Alright he's been traveling. I see you were out of the office a lot.
Customer: Nope, yeah.
Customer: Okay, and you just goof off at home and stuff. Yeah, make mo right, you guys still make it tomorrow's good. Good. New Mexico tradition. You gotta do that.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Yup, as a matter of fact, exactly. As a matter of fact. I literally just ate one for lunch.
Customer: Hey, they're good snacks. I buy them at Costco they actually have decent mo. I don't know if he probably don't. Yeah, they do the main L-L-A by gilmar, Dell somebody but they're, so I just microwave one and it's like, shoot, it's easy cheesy snack. Yeah, cool.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Yeah.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Really. Yeah, I probably wouldn't like them.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Right.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Yeah.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Exactly, that's exactly what I just did for for breakfast this morning. So, that's pretty doing good. What was I gonna say here? Okay, so I'll let you know when the pre night is confirmed and stuff. That's like I say it'll, it'll be a little bit.
Customer: Yeah, yeah, yeah, nothing wrong with that. Yup, yup. You got it.
Customer: Okay. No, yeah, she said it's gonna be like six months right now. Now in the to theta African tour I went ahead and booked the air because united had a really good deal but if I want to get, how do I get another seven percent back from to on that? Do I need to book something?
Agent (Pam Chavez): Yeah.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Pam Chavez): It's not tell it's Pavlus but.
Customer: Oh, Pam, I'm sorry. Yeah, I know to didn't do anything, I'm sorry. Yeah, it's yeah.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Yeah, no, yeah you've got something else in the books already so you're good to go. You're good. So, alrighty, alright sounds good. Thanks Helen. Happy New Year to you too. Have a good one. Oh, hey Kevin! How how's your mom doing? How's your mom doing?
Customer: Okay, that's cool. Alright. Okay, sounds like a plan. Yeah, alright, cool, alright. Well, thanks for checking in Pam. Have a Happy New Year. Alright, thanks. Talk to you later. Bye-bye. Yeah.
Customer: She's no longer here she passed to, then yeah, and then we're actually moving, carrie's step mom who lived here too. At one time. We had three moms here and now we have none. And then her sister who has a Reno address, actually, moved to Mexico with her little boyfriend. So, there's really no re, yeah, yeah, and but his name is Tony and, and he, they live in Mexico. I don't know what kind of address. They'd be, probably gonna have a mailing address for him. But, cause they sure they do everything online, but they live down in Baha area, north of Cabo, here's where you live. So she lives down there. So with no mom's here and her sister gone, we're moving up to Seattle and gosh, it's gonna be eight for we're having a house bill. You're not, I not see I spoke in her kids living, spoke Carrian two kids in. They spoke in. So we're in-house build up at spoke in and so we're, that's why I'm trying to.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Okay.
Agent (Pam Chavez): What?
Agent (Pam Chavez): Oh my goodness. Yeah, I do. I know I've dealt with her before.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Uh-huh.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Oh.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Oh, wow.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Okay.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Oh, wow. Okay.
Customer: Get everything in fact, yeah, I, I'm actually looking at airfare from spoke now instead of Reno, cause I got, we're doing this Windstar thing and the end of February that the, and then after that it's all gonna be G-E-G spoke and flights for me.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Uh-huh.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Right.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Yeah. Wow. Wow. No, no, no, your mom didn't pass. She's. Oh, she did.
Customer: Yeah.
Customer: Yeah, no, she passed away she was, she's almost ninety and now you did your mom, is she still living by herself or she yeah. Okay. Yeah, yeah, no my mom passed it's been two and a half years. She started losing it real quick and we had to put her in a facility and it they weren't happy and you know that stuff goes yeah and then carry step mom we were on this an Artic cruise with Viking from Linda when we go February through may.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Oh, I'm sorry. No, she passed January. It's gonna be a year. January 7th.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Oh, gosh. Yeah, I definitely do.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Mm-hmm.
Customer: Like, in January she had some issues. So they put her on hospice. So Carrie, sister was coming up like every two weeks to check on her and he passed away when we were on our freaking in Archi it's like damn that's so, yeah, so, so where everything's, you know we got out of the states and sold everything and so yeah, so we're putting our house on the market actually tomorrow is ironic. Yeah, well real said, listed. Yeah, so we'll see what happens and we're not too worried about.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Oh, no. Oh.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Oh, my, wow.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Listed listed in 26 which is like.
Customer: Yeah. Well, she said they, yeah, yeah, and she said how cause I didn't think anything sold in January or February, you'd be surprised people actually buy houses in February. And I.
Customer: You know, most people do it, like in the spring or summer or something but we'll see. We're not too worried about it. So, yeah, so whenever we move I'll obviously give you guys our new address cause we you know, we get a lot of, get a lot of stuff from you guys. Yeah. Cool.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Wow.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Mm-hmm mm-hmm mm-hmm wow.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Right.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Is that, is that, is that spoke on? Is that, that's a whole way to go to you'd like.
Customer: Well, it's nice. I mean it's kinda, it's kinda like, Marino, it's there's mountains and there's a river and it's a college town and it's like 500000 people. So the airports big enough but it's not a, you know, it's smaller than Alva but you know. Yeah. Yeah.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Right.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Oh, wow. Okay. Oh, you should see the aque now, these days, holy crap! They have to, so I know it's a sun for. Yes, but, but they haven't.
Customer: The sun port. I already got a hoo, they call it a sun port. It's like, it's not an airport, it's a sun port. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. No. I used to fly in there all the time when I used to go see my dad down to your. So by an Avogy. Three or four times a year. Yup.
Agent (Pam Chavez): My gosh. But they have, they have improved it like tremendously. It's actually quite beautiful, I mean but, I mean they've got, yeah, they got a lot of stuff going on and it's really, really, really very nice and stuff so you just airport ever, so that's always good.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Cool. Yeah, no, it's a nice airport deploy. It's a what?
Agent (Pam Chavez): It's the easiest airport ever. Oh, wow. Well.
Customer: Oh, oh, for you guys. Yeah, Reno used to be like that you could show up like thirty minutes before your flight and walk through the TSA pre check and walk to your gate. I don't know if I have a Kirk, still like that but it, it's, yeah, so other airports like, we fly through Denver a lot and it, yeah, I don't know if you ever fly trailer but sometimes you got to walk a mile to make your gut Dink and then now united starts going into a different terminals cause they expanded your gate. So if you go into terminal A., you gotta walk and then take the train and then get off the train and, you know, it's, it takes like 45 minutes if you're hoping it. Yeah, so yeah, but it's nothing wrong with that.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Oh, yeah.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Yeah.
Agent (Pam Chavez): God disasters.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Oh.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Oh, that's nuts.
Agent (Pam Chavez): Yeah, crazy crazy. Alrighty, well, Happy New Year again. You guys have a great one. Thanks. Okay. Thanks. Bye.
Customer: Cool. Alright, yeah. Alright. Yup, same to you. Yeah, stay in touch. Thanks Pam. Bye-bye.
