“I just wanna make sure that we're clear here and a Viking and why Viking does it this way I have no idea and I want you to understand my concern.”
Contact Regent directly to confirm (1) whether loyalty status upgrades take effect upon boarding or after disembarkation, and (2) whether Gold onboard credit benefits apply retroactively to the January 2027 cruise or only to subsequent cruises. Send Edward a brief clarification email with the answers and the confirmed total onboard credit breakdown ($1,150 per person × 2 = $2,300).

What happened
Edward called back to clarify specific issues on his upcoming cruises: (1) he was confused about how onboard credit is listed on Viking invoices, with $2,300 total credit split across different line items and display areas; (2) he wanted to understand whether his Regent loyalty status will upgrade to Gold upon boarding a January 2027 cruise (he'll hit Gold mid-cruise, based on night count), and whether he'll receive Gold onboard credit benefits retroactively or starting the next cruise. Lauren acknowledged both questions, explained the Viking credit structure (promotional credits built into the system vs. Pavlus-added credits), and committed to contacting Regent for clarification on the loyalty status timing. No new bookings or payments were discussed; this was a pure support/clarification call.
Emotional read
The customer is engaged, detail-oriented, and slightly frustrated by documentation discrepancies—but not with the agent personally. He appreciates Lauren's willingness to help and explicitly asks her to understand his concerns rather than dismiss them. He remains professional and collaborative throughout.
Emotional arc through the call
Customer started with a mild frustration about onboard credit display inconsistencies, warmed noticeably when Lauren acknowledged his concern ('I get it'), and ended the call in a collaborative, appreciative tone.

Customer: Hi, thanks for calling me back. We've been doing so well on email. Everything's, we've doing a lot of work here. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): I just thought it'd be more it'd be easier to talk. Alright I saw your email I'll update your daughter's address with Oceana in regent made those deposits and about the Viking onboard credit. Customer: Yeah. Customer: Okay, so I just want to be clear because Viking doesn't list it, it's listed in that block of certificates is listed as a total of $2,300 or $2,350 whatever the hell it is. But the, but when you go down to the Viking thing, it does, it shows a Honda. It only, it still only shows $100 when you look at a different place where it's listed of additional stuff, it shows it that the $1,000 is, is still not there, but it is up in that block area of the invoice. That shows the, that shows what they call their voucher section. But again in the narrative, it only lists $150 per person, it doesn't list the $1,000. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Right. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Yes. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Mm-hmm. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Yes. Customer: Lit which is on top of the $1,000 we took instead of the drink package and the tips. So I just wanna make sure that we're clear here and a Viking and why Viking does it this way I have no idea and I want you to understand my concern. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Yes, and. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Oh, no, I get it. No. So on the Viking invoice I sent you it will only show, it won't show, cause when we add our ship or credit it's basically like a gift. So it's not gonna show under the amenities, it will show under that. Customer: Wait a minute. Stop, stop but except that a 150 from publi does show but the thousand does not which didn't. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Cause that's built cause that's like a special promotion that we had. So it's built into the system. When we go and add our regular ship or credit it will always just show under that voucher, applied area just so you know. Customer: Alright. So, the bottom line is we still get a total of $2,300 of onboard credit. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Yes. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): A hundred percent correct. Yes, you each have 1150 and everything equals out, but it's in kind of two different areas Perse yes. Customer: Alright. Then the other question I had which is fairly minor we're only five nights away from being gold on region which gives us additional benefits. Is the, do they do it like Oceania where they cause we became silver. I oi when we do our cruise to Norway a year and a half ago and they said that you don't get the status until you've literally walk on the ship the first day and then they give, they grant they granted to you. Does that mean that we would get additional and if region does it the same way as we experienced I know Ianna only in region now we're moving up to gold. Do we get the additional gold benefit added on when we walk on the ship. Cause right now it's just showing the silver benefits cause we're five night short of gold. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Mm-hmm. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Mm-hmm. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Let me double-check with them. I don't know I think it's, you won't change it. Well, you have your 2028 but I have a feeling. Customer: Yeah, I mm-hmm. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): It would change once, right? Customer: What about 2020? What about 2028? Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): So, it's gonna change once you get off, of it will update for your what is it the 2020? Sorry. I'm in. Customer: No, no, no. The cruise we're taking in, in, in January 2027. We have we're right now we're five night short of gold. When we walk on the ship off for a, for a ten day cruise we will be over, we'll go over and we become gold. The minute we walk on the ship at least if they do it the same way or she did it. So my question is how does it work? Is that does it work the same way? And if we're, if we're gold, aren't we entitled more on board credit? Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Right. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Oh, how they up, up? Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Okay, or what? Customer: And I'm not expecting you to know the answer. I'm expecting you to understand the question. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): I did. Yup. You're five day short. You want to know if you would get your gold benefits on board or once you get on board or. Customer: Yeah, and what we get gold will become gold and when we get the higher level of, of, of onboard credits that gold people get versus what sulfur people can. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Yeah, that makes sense. Well, let me find out, I'll find out how it works on what region is if like you will account once you get on board for 2027 or is it gonna be you know the next cruise then after that you would have gold I'll find out. Customer: Yeah, those are all the important questions to inquiring mind twenty. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Yeah, yeah, well, I like that. Your daughter's traveling with you, she's making you spend your money. Customer: Yeah, but they're buying cancel for any reason cause they're both working people with kids. So, he never know. Huh. Yeah, but, hope, yeah, and of course they live in LA. So the LA cruise makes a lot of sense. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): I will see. We'll see, we'll see, we'll see. Yeah, hopefully they can go. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Yeah. Customer: Alrighty, thanks Lauren. I appreciate your help as always. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): My pleasure sir. Are always that's a pleasure. I will reach out to region and see what I can find out. Customer: Okay. No, no huge rush. Bye-bye. Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Alright, take care. Bye.
