Call Mary tomorrow morning (she will initiate) to confirm international flight itinerary and finalize booking of the $4,079.69 United/Litsa routing. At that time, confirm JetBlue pricing for Boston stopovers and clarify whether she will overnight in Boston on departure (2 July) or return (29 July), then proceed to issue tickets and finalize seat assignments.
Full analysis
What happened

Mary called to finalize flights for a July 4–28 European cruise (25 days to Bucharest). Agent Rose spent the bulk of the 79-minute call working through multiple international flight options from RSW (Fort Myers) to Bucharest, comparing routes via Miami, Newark, Boston, and various European hubs. Mary initially struggled to read the itinerary format and rejected several options due to tight connections, unfavorable airports (Paris CDG), or late arrivals. After extensive iteration, Rose presented a well-priced itinerary ($4,079.69 total) using United Airlines for the international leg (RSW–Boston–Frankfurt–Bucharest, then return 28 July) with business class throughout, plus planned JetBlue for optional Boston stopover. Mary confirmed frequent flyer and TSA numbers, accepted most seat assignments, and committed to calling back tomorrow morning to greenlight the international portion after reviewing her calendar. The call also touched on Mary's planned September 2025 trip (with Windstar from Istanbul to Athens) and the agent's own upcoming May cruise.

Emotional read

Mary began the call in a casual, friendly tone discussing the agent's medical visit, then shifted into business mode when discussing flight options. She grew slightly frustrated with confusing itinerary formats and unfamiliar airlines, but warmed considerably as the agent found a good price and routing through Frankfurt. By end of call, she was appreciative and engaged, planning to review her calendar and confirm booking tomorrow morning.

Emotional arc through the call

Started casual and relaxed discussing the agent's health, shifted to focused and slightly frustrated during initial itinerary review, grew more engaged and warmer as Rose found a viable premium itinerary, and ended the call appreciative and collaborative, planning next steps.

How customer sees Pavlus
  • positive · praised agent Rose for persistence in finding good pricing and routing despite technical challenges with the booking system
  • negative · itinerary format sent was difficult to read and parse, making it hard to compare flight options
  • positive · appreciated agent's willingness to add $60 credit to rebate check as compensation for a minor error with dates
  • positive · satisfied with agent's knowledge of airlines, partnerships, and seat configurations
Process friction
  • initial itinerary document was in a format that was difficult for customer to read and understand
  • some airline booking system errors: United unable to confirm RSW–Newark–Vienna–Bucharest; JetBlue lacks ticketing agreement requiring separate tickets
  • seat maps not immediately available for some flights (Boston–Frankfurt, Frankfurt–Bucharest with Litsa), requiring follow-up after ticketing
  • confusion over date in booking system (agent caught error with August vs. July 28 return)
Value perception

Mary stated the total international fare of $4,079.69 was reasonable and a good price. She noted, 'I certainly think that's a good price and it looks like it's business class that sort of thing.' She appreciated that the routing and pricing made business-class international travel accessible, even if it required multiple legs and connections.

Customer: Yeah, that's fine and what I might do why don't you just go ahead and kind of price that out on that JetBlue because I might go, you know, a couple of days early.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay, sure.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay, and then coming back what is your, arrive in Boston at 8:15 PM? Oh, you're gonna overnight anyways, right? So, you're gonna come back on the 29th of July from Boston to R-S-W. Oh, depends what time you want to leave in the morning.

Agent (Rose Morrissey): Wow.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah.
Customer: And okay, well let's just price out that 4:00 PM.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay.
Customer: And the 11:42 Boston in the morning on the second.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Then.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): That was a challenge on this thing. Okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): $486.19.
Customer: Yeah, that would have been about my guess.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay, hold on a second. Let me see if I can price the whole thing.
Customer: So I'm just gonna say 500.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): No, yeah they don't have ticketing agreement with so we have to ticket separate. So it's 404048619 plus what was the international amount 4000 something, right? Yeah.
Customer: Yeah, separately and that, that's.
Customer: I think it was gonna write it down.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): One CB, two dash five.
Customer: I got too many pages of scribble here.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Segment two dash five.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Oh, correct.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Dash five.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): 408850 plus 4088.50.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Not bad. $4,079.69 the whole fair and you know what? That was the price that had for their. No, yeah.
Customer: Yeah, so is fourth.
Customer: Oh, is it okay. Well.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): But you were flying all over the world to get to rest.
Customer: Yeah, well, and you know what and I certainly think that's a good price and it looks like it's business class that sort of thing on you. Is it, was it united? Yeah, I don't, flowing united forever but I do have a number for united.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): It's business class all the way. Yeah, hold on a second.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): It's economy on, on JetBlue because they don't have business and then business class from Boston to frankford. And business class frankford. To progress Ladan and then business class from Amsterdam to frankford and business class from com.
Customer: Oh, of course. Yeah, yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Business class from frankford to Boston.
Customer: Yeah, it really, it sounds like a really good deal and you know I'm sitting here going through this thinking to went to myself, okay, this sounds like reasonable stuff. Now my question at the moment is one of the things when I signed up for this July 4th trip to take this 25 day to trip or whatever. Is, I was supposed to, I was supposed to be visiting friends in July in Boston. Yes, Boston.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Uh-huh.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Oh, oh, oh, did this? So, you get to go see them. You're going to go see them.
Customer: Well, and, you know, I could, and Judy said, well, why don't you stop on the way back? And I said, Judy, you're not gonna want to put up with me. I'm gonna want to stay in bed for two days with all that flying and whatever. So, you know, it's perhaps I could come back July 28th, cause I'm not going anywhere else until August 15th or something. And spend some time in Boston and then we can deal with JetBlue but I like this international portion of it rose.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, I do too. I feel comfortable even though you got two and a half hours in frankford but that's okay to make that in that yeah, yeah, I like that.
Customer: Yeah.
Customer: No, I'm fine with that. Yeah, I would rather have more time than no enough cause I.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): It's, yeah, the times are very conservative. If you look at even coming back home, you have, you arrive frankford at 12:40 PM. You leave frankford. At 5:40 PM. That's okay, yeah.
Customer: Yeah, yeah, and I think that's very reasonable, and price-wise I also think it's reasonable can I, can I think about it the rest of the afternoon here and.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Very reasonable.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Oh, yes, yes. I want you to, I want you to let me get, yeah look at your calendar, look at your tech confirmation that I sent you just so that.
Customer: Look at my calendar and all that good stuff.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Just, so we don't, just, so you don't have me coming back a month later.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): I've double checked my. No, your friend will say, well, wait a minute. Why are you here so long?
Customer: I know. Well you know she likes that when I come up to visit because she also has a place in Maine. She's traveled with may on fort trips. Judy Mickelson yeah, yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Oh.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Oh, is that the, yeah is that, yes, yes, I like there, yeah.
Customer: Yeah, she's really nice, she's just not an traveler like I am, it's like, okay, so let me look at my calendar see what I might do to stay in Boston a little bit longer when I come back and then and then we can book JetBlue.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay, I'll get the Simons for you. I'll get the assignments.
Customer: Okay, and.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): And then, and then I'll email you updated confirmation with the, with your C. assignments double double-check your names and everything, make sure that international is okay. Okay.
Customer: Okay, alright that sounds good.
Customer: Yeah, well and, and when you guys put it in, I guess somebody in the travel department can go back in there and put my united number in there and my, and my TSA number.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): I can do it. Let's should do it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can do that hold on a moment. I can do it.
Customer: Well, I, you know, I haven't used this number. I just looked this united number up while we were on the phone here, and I'm assuming it's still a good number. I'm showing United Airlines as an X. G-N 81216.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): N. 811 let me put that in right now. S-S-Q SF, okay.
Customer: Okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Thanks.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): X. delta November 8th 1216.
Customer: 81216, yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, it took it now. Yeah, and then we're going to do the.
Customer: It did and how about that TSA number?
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, I'm gonna do it now. I have the TSA number. Yeah.
Customer: Oh, you do? Okay, somewhere I went, just recently and I got there and they didn't have it, it's going what? Oh, it was somewhere where I showed up. I'm not sure that it wasn't when I booked to myself to go to Dallas, and I got there, and they didn't have it.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): What do you mean?
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay. So when you run your boarding pass always check the top corner, left or right. Yeah, and if it was not and if it wasn't there, then what you do to go to the counter and say can you just put my A-T-S-A number? Yeah.
Customer: Yeah.
Customer: I know I learned my lesson.
Customer: I know. And you know, I got all the way to TSA, pre checked and I'm going the pre check line. He said, oh, you're not pre check. I said, well, yes I am. I said, it's obviously didn't show up so, I just went through the regular line but I've learned that now.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): But you know what, there's so many people now have TSA that line is getting it, that line is getting long. Let me see. Okay, I got your TSA number in here.
Customer: Oh, it's ridiculous.
Customer: It is.
Customer: Okay, M. why you doing it stuff?
Agent (Rose Morrissey): And then let me look at a mileage agreement exist, okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): I Ting ma'am for those are of I don't know if they get the mileage on love but we'll see verify order of itinerary segments modify are out, okay go over.
Customer: Oh.
Customer: They're probably part of one of those alliances or something.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, they are. I'll double-check with my air department on that and then let me let's go do assignments.
Customer: Yeah, okay.
Customer: Oh, sure.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): You know we have that. To look forward to home business class. Very nice. Of course.
Customer: Oh, of course.
Customer: Of course. You don't know what the con figuration is. Do you, oh, okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): I do 92.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Good on.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay. Seat mat for Boston. To frankford. Seat. Mat not available. Okay. Let's look at the other one.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): About this one frankford to book a rest.
Customer: That one doesn't bother me as much. It's the long house.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Oh, in different. Okay, and strada to frankford it's Litsa and the configuration is seat on AC, on C., there's no seats on B. D-N-F.
Customer: Oh, well A-N-F are probably Windows, those would be fine. Yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Window A. as a window. Yeah, you want that. Okay, let me go want that, that's go to the next one. Frankford to Boston. Two seats together A-N-C and then the IDG are kinda separate it like you're by yourself. So maybe, yeah, they're not together. Maybe in the middle is a console or something like that in business class.
Customer: Really.
Customer: Oh, okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): So I'm gonna put you in two C. I mean, 2D, 2D, 2D.
Customer: Okay, okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay, and then.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Boston to R-S-W-O well, JetBlue isn't that nice?
Agent (Rose Morrissey): That blue, you have to pay for seats to be up in the front.
Customer: Oh, would you wanna just leave the JetBlue stuff for now.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, we can leave it, we can leave it. That's not a problem.
Customer: My, my biggest thing was the international, and if I, cause I wanna look at my calendar, there's no need a booking JetBlue and then saying, oh, I'm gonna stay with Judy for weeks. So I don't want to come back until August. Yeah, for September 1st or something.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, so I'm thinking the portion from Boston to frankford it's, you're flying on love.
Customer: Yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): I don't have a seat map for that yet. It's not available at this time and then frankford to book rest. I don't have a seat map available either that's with what we could do. Once we issue the ticket then we can go to Litsa directly and see if they can give us a seat or we may have to, you may have to pay to get a seat with tons up they're like that, I know they're like, I tell you, I don't know when they do that.
Customer: Oh.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Oh.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Even when it's business.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Even when it's business, yeah, yeah.
Customer: Wow. Okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): I'll look at that.
Customer: Alright.
Customer: So, we can just let the JetBlue sit.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, I'll just, well, I'll just leave it in the book. You know what, I'm gonna cancel it out because I don't, I don't want anything to go wrong with this nice international fair.
Customer: Yeah.
Customer: Oh, okay. No, I don't either.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Because because you're not connecting what we're gonna do, we're gonna issue a separate ticket for that. What, yeah, because you're gonna overnight in Boston.
Customer: Oh, yes, yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Well, no, yeah, you may overnight in Austin or you may overnight coming back.
Customer: Yes, yeah, one way goes.
Customer: I'm, I probably will overnight coming back.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Customer: That would be my guess, but I'll have to look at my calendar.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay.
Customer: So do I need to talk with you within like tomorrow morning and say yes, let's go with the international portion.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Let me see what their.
Customer: Okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): 408850.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yes, we need to talk tomorrow morning first thing in the morning. Okay, I'm gonna hold on today. That's okay. That's okay I'll be here late tomorrow morning. No, I've been, I got a, I got a, the next few days it's gonna be.
Customer: Okay, alright. Yes, I'll try not to call you at 6:30 in the morning.
Customer: Yeah, the next few days gonna be very hectic for you. So you can get yourself over to Aston. Boul.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yes, yes.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): So, you know what? I'm not going till Sunday but I'm telling everybody that, I'm not, I'm not going to be here Saturday but I'm gonna be just cramming on Saturday.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Okay, well you just cram away.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Oh, my god! Okay, alright. I will email you, email you another itinerary. Okay? Just so that you, okay, thank you so much. I am so happy that we're able to get together to do this.
Customer: And I will get back to you tomorrow morning. Okay.
Customer: Oh, that sounds great rose. Alright, thank you.
Customer: Oh, yes, and, and when you get back from Bolda Athens or whatever you're doing, wherever you end up, we'll talk about Scott cause that, I think that's September 1st or something, okay, alright.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay. Yeah, for that air fair. Yes.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yes, it is in September. Thank you. I would but yeah, bye-bye.
Customer: Okay. Thanks rose. Have a good alright, talk to you tomorrow. Okay, bye-bye.
