Full analysis
What happened
Sherry called back after being referred by a couple she met on a prior Viking cruise. She had recently booked a 14-night 2027 France river cruise (Paris-Normandy-Avignon itinerary) directly with Viking and put down a deposit about a week prior. She wanted to know if Pavlus could match or exceed the onboard credit AAA had offered her on a separate 2026 booking. Taylor explained Pavlus offers $600 in onboard credit ($300 per person for two passengers) plus $200 per person vouchers, beating her AAA deal by $200 total. Sherry had questions about document delivery logistics and expressed concern about air booking reliability after a recent bad experience where she missed a connecting flight despite a short layover. Taylor addressed both concerns, explaining the transfer process and offering dedicated air team support. Sherry agreed to forward her booking confirmation email to Taylor immediately to initiate the rebooking, demonstrating readiness to proceed.
Emotional read
Sherry started cautiously curious about whether Pavlus could beat her AAA deal, then grew progressively warmer as Taylor explained the $600 onboard credit offer and support structure. She became more engaged when discussing her prior negative air experience, appreciative of the air team support offered. By call end she was actively completing the transfer action (forwarding email) during the conversation, signaling genuine commitment.
Emotional arc through the call
Started cautious and evaluative, warmed noticeably once Taylor quantified the $600 onboard credit offer, became more engaged while discussing the negative air experience and learning about dedicated support teams, and ended energized and action-oriented by actively forwarding her confirmation email during the call.
How customer sees Pavlus
- positive · expressed appreciation for the $200 advantage over AAA: 'Okay, that sounds great, that's 200 more than I would get if I went through AAA'
- positive · acknowledged Pavlus offers structured support with multiple teams (air team, guest relations team) vs handling issues directly with Viking
- positive · noted Taylor would be main point of contact: 'you're the contact person if I need anything else from Viking, is that correct? I don't I don't call them direct for anything'
Process friction
- Customer had to clarify her dual-booking situation (2026 with AAA already booked, 2027 direct with Viking) because Taylor initially seemed uncertain whether transfer from another agency was possible
Value perception
Sherry perceives value in Pavlus's $200 onboard credit advantage over AAA and appreciates the dedicated support structure (air team, guest relations team) to handle issues without needing to contact Viking directly. She explicitly stated the Pavlus offer 'sounds great' compared to AAA, suggesting confidence in the trade-off of rebooking.

Customer: Hello. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Hi, is this sherry? Customer: It is. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): This is Taylor with Pavlis. How are you? Customer: Hi, Taylor. I'm good. How are you? Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Good, I'm good. Thank you so much I was returning your call so we love referral. So I'm really glad you reached out. Customer: Okay, well, we met that very nice couple on the last threat. And yeah, and I booked a trip for next year with another travel agent. I went through AAA and I got a, okay, so I got a certain amount of onboard credit for doing that but I didn't know it's you match that or if you did better than they did. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah, they're great. Yeah. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah, absolutely. So in addition to what you get from Viking. So not what you've gotten from AAA we would give $200 per person vouchers as long as you don't have them. So we have onboard vouchers. Did you purchase any while you were onboard? Customer: Right. Customer: Oh, I usually use it towards the tips. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay, so, we purchase onboard vouchers which is the buy to you pay $100 and you get $200 and we apply those. Yeah, did you buy those at all. Customer: Oh, yeah, they told us about that. Customer: No. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay, good. So, what happens is we go buy those for our clients and once you book with us, we apply them. So, if you're traveling as a couple you get $200 per person or $400 total. If you're traveling by yourself, just $200 and then on top of that, we give onboard credit. Do you know how many nights you, your trip is by chance? Customer: Yeah, I have it right in front of me. It the itinerary is in 2027 and it is Francis. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): What is the, what is the itinerary you booked? Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay. Customer: And it's fourteen nights. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Does it, cause isn't that one a cruise tour? Do they have, do they have land and it's. Customer: No, no. What it is, there's no hotels involved with this one. But it's two different ships. It combines two different trips. You go from Paris to Norman and back to Paris and then you go from Paris To Avenue. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yes. Yes, that's correct. Yeah. So, since it's fourteen nights we would be able to give you $600 of onboard credit $300 per, I'm assuming you're traveling as a, are you a double? Customer: It's my, it's my granddaughter. Yes. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay, so it'd be $300 per person for a total of $600 that we would be able to give you. Customer: Okay, that sounds great, that's 200 more than I would get if I went through AAA. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah, yeah, so I, I'm going to be honest, I don't know the process of of transferring from agency to agency. Customer: Oh, no, no, no, I'm not with another agency on this particular trip. The one, the one I'm doing a 2026 I've already booked and AAA was my agent this particular. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Oh. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Gotcha. Okay, so this one's direct. Customer: This is a new one and I just put the deposit down like a week and a half ago. So this is a new one. I still have it listed with Viking and I asked them to be sure that they still get credit if I transfer the booking to a travel a, to. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Awesome. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yes, and, and so we do this all the time. So essentially what would be the next steps is, if you decide to take the offer that I gave you would provide me with your booking number and the names of both passengers and then I will reach out to my contact, transfer it over and then apply our perks. Customer: Thank. Customer: Okay, I do have a couple of questions like yeah, I'm in Florida during the winter in New York during the summer. So, when I left Florida, I didn't know, I didn't know if I'd have my Viking tags and things before I left Florida. So the travel agent said they just have them send it to her and I could either pick them up or she'd overnight them to me in New York and it turned out that I was able to pick them up from her so if I do it through you. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yes. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Mm-hmm we ship them, yeah, we ship them to ourselves. And then we ship them to you, depending on what address you want us to send them to. Customer: Mm-hmm. Customer: Okay, and then you're the contact person if I need anything else from Viking, is that correct? I don't I don't call them direct for anything. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): You can, but they usually don't answer if it involves costs. So, but you can call them for like, little questions. But if you need anything obviously, I'm pretty available, so you know, don't hesitate to reach out. But yes, that is correct. I would be your main point of contact. Any communication would come from us and then I have two teams, I have an air team so if you have air on the booking or you want to add air on the booking you'd work with my air team. And then my guest relations team helps with any little nuances that you have to your booking. So, let's say you want to add-on transfers or you want to book a pre hotel night, that kind of thing. My guest relations team helps assist with those things that help button up your trip. So, I do work with a couple of teams. Customer: Okay. Customer: Okay. Customer: Okay, I. Customer: Okay, I did have one problem this trip I got back from in may we, yeah, I took, I use biking air and I didn't use the one you pay extra where you can book your own and I just I've done with. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Uh-huh. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Oh, the AirPlus, yeah. Customer: Yeah, I've been with them three times and I never had a problem so I let them book everything. And when we came back we only had an hour and a half layover at Dallas in Washington to serra queues and we even use the new app where you can go through customs on a short line like we bypass the whole, yeah, we did that was great but then we still missed our flight. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Oh, sure. Customer: So, yeah, so what if they do my booking and, and it looks like they're, I'm not happy with the timeframe. Is there any way to rectify that? Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Wow. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): So. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Well so that would be AirPlus unfortunately, you would have to add that on but that would be my air team. They essentially would work for, they would work on Viking air on your behalf. So, you would communicate to them what you want. They will help find the schedule so you don't have to deal with biking air. Customer: Okay. Yeah, I mean, we're perfectly fine if there's a short delay or something, we're flexible and I hate paying extra $150 I'm just cheap but, but we had to go standby that night to Syracuse and we just got on the last flight. So, and we got into 22 in the morning. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Sure. Oh, and, yeah. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Mm-hmm. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah, I understand. Sure. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Absolutely. So yeah, we can help with that. We can help, you know be that Les on between you and Viking air and, and help communicate our thoughts and opinions on your schedule and stuff like that. We do have an emergency air team if you do need help for after hours. So keep that in mind too with Viking air specifically though I always recommend calling their support first and then us because they're gonna. Customer: So. Customer: Okay. Customer: Okay. Customer: Okay. Okay. We didn't do any, we didn't do any of that, we just did it ourselves. I didn't. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): You can do that too but if you do run into issues like that definitely utilize that support number they send you before you leave. Customer: Okay, okay. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Mm-hmm but one other thing I wanted to mention about our onboard credit so we add it to your booking about thirty days prior to your departure. And if you have booked anything outside of the cruise prepaid guts beverage package or short excursions, it'll reimburse you, as soon as it's added to your account. If you haven't booked anything outside of the cruise, it is refundable if you don't use it on board. So, so keep that all in mind, it's kind of like cash but just know that, if you book those short excursions ahead of time, as soon as it's added, it'll reimburse you on your card or whatever method of payment that you use at the time. So, it is really like having cash. Customer: Okay. Customer: Oh, wow. Customer: Okay. Customer: Now the onboard credit. Okay, well, the onboard credit that Viking sometimes gives you. That's not refundable. It's just yours, right? Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): No, that is correct. Just the Ablis onboard credit. Customer: Okay. Well, this particular cruise, I don't think we have any onboard credits from biking, it's just, dis, it was very discounted because I have a future booking with them. I saved almost $3,000. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah. Oh, that's fantastic. Yeah, some of those promo codes they have our phenomenal so. Customer: Yeah, they sent me a special letter. I was, I couldn't pass it up so. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yeah. A absolutely. I love that. Well like I so couple of things I wonder do I have you how do you spell your last name? Customer: K-A-D-E-R-L-I. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay, I don't think I do. So, what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna create a quick profile, just with the basics track. Customer: Okay, yeah. I just had a thought do you want me to perhaps forward the email to you with the booking information? Cause. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): You can uh-huh as long if you are ready to transfer all I need is that if you want to forward me the confirmation, it'll give me the full name and your booking number. That's really what I need to get started. Do you spell your first name? How do you spell your first name? Customer: S-S-H-E-R-R-Y. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay, perfect and then cater lee, perfect and then I'm gonna just put a phone number and again I'm just setting up like the very minimal so that I can put some notes in here and then either I can give you my email if you and whenever you're ready just forward me that and I'll take it from there. Customer: Okay. Customer: Okay, hang on just a minute. Let me what are you still there? Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yup, I'm here. Customer: Okay, sometimes when I'm on my phone I go to another app and then I'm afraid I'm gonna disconnect. Okay, what is your email? Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Hit buttons. Yeah. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): I Unders it is my first name Taylor. Customer: Taylor, okay. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): T-A-Y-L-O-R, and it's at T-A-Y-L-O-R. Customer: Okay at. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): At Ablis P. as in Paul, A-V as in Victor, L-U-S as in Sam, Travel.com. Customer: Okay. Taylor @pavlustravel.com. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Yup. Do you want to send it or, or do you want to send it and then I can email you back just saying I received it? Customer: Oh. Customer: Yes, yeah, we'll do that. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay, perfect! Well, I will look for that email. If you don't hear from me today give me maybe text me or give me a call just to say, you know, hey, did you receive it and I'll look for your email today if you decide to not send it to me, that's totally fine. Just let me know. Customer: Okay, I'm doing it right now actually. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Okay. Yeah, I can look for it. Customer: Okay. Alright. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Alright, well thanks for calling. Customer: Okay, thank you. Agent (Taylor Bazzoni): Uh-huh, bye-bye. Customer: Bye-bye.
