“I feel a little less fearful about it and I kind of feel that we might be able to find our way either through a taxi or an Uber there.”
Contact uni world today to confirm whether they have hotel partnerships or alternative accommodations near the Amsterdam dock, and call Mable back by end of business tomorrow with findings so she can finalize the hotel and transportation plan before the booking window closes.
Full analysis
What happened
Mable called with pre-trip logistics questions about a uni world cruise departing from Amsterdam. Her primary concern was whether the Hilton hotel (the only option currently presented) offers airport shuttle service, as she wanted assurance of timely arrival to the ship given it's their first time in Amsterdam. She had researched alternatives online (taxis, Uber) and felt the Black Lane service was overpriced. The agent offered to contact uni world and the hotel directly to confirm shuttle availability and explore other hotel options. Mable also asked about visa requirements for Switzerland; the agent referred her to Sherpa travel restrictions website. By call end, Mable decided to cancel Black Lane and rely instead on hotel shuttle or commercial transportation (Uber/taxi), pending the agent's follow-up on hotel options by end of tomorrow.
Emotional read
Mable started cautious and somewhat anxious about logistics, cycling through multiple "what if" scenarios and worrying about being locked into expensive options. She warmed considerably as the call progressed, becoming more decisive and collaborative once the agent offered to research alternatives. By the end, she was relaxed and friendly, even exchanging sympathetic banter about being sick.
Emotional arc through the call
Started anxious and circular in her thinking (cycling through 'what if' scenarios), became more grounded and decisive once the agent confirmed he would research alternatives, and ended warm and friendly even joking about shared cold symptoms.
How customer sees Pavlus
- positive · trusted that agent Christopher could contact uni world and the hotel property to get answers, appreciated being offered options rather than being told 'no'
- neutral · mentioned a prior contact 'Rose' who had previously advised her on the trip and visa question; references suggest prior positive relationship with Pavlus planner
Value perception
Mable implied skepticism about Black Lane's value relative to cheaper Uber/taxi options she researched online. No explicit praise for Pavlus value proposition, though she seemed to accept the bundled hotel package despite reservations about price.
Customer behaviors
extensively researching destination independently (YouTube videos, pricing comparisons)comparing multiple transportation options (hotel shuttle vs. Black Lane vs. Uber vs. taxi)expressing anxiety about being locked into single expensive hotel optiondeferring final decision pending agent's follow-up researchseeking reassurance about unfamiliar destination logisticsconsolidating concerns into one decisive call rather than scattered inquiries

Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Hi, this is Chris, with guest relations. How can I help you today? Customer: Hi, Chris this is Mable brown, you sent me an email the other day. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Yeah, so what can I do for you? Customer: Yeah, well, I just had a, a few questions. There was the black lane. Well, first of all, let me talk about the hotel, the Hilton hotel just out of curiosity, because it's a Hilton, I always thought that the Hilton hotels had shuttle buses from the airport to their hotel. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): So this specifically didn't mention if they do, or if they don't, if we book the hotel, I can reach out to the hotel property directly and ask them if they do have that. If they provide that as a service and or I can shoot them an email now of course we have to wait for them to respond and you know, that can take a few days. Customer: Oh, sure, sure. And I think we'll go ahead and I mean, as far as the Hilton hotel, I can't think of any other hotel that uni world, I guess, I want something connected with uni world. So that this way I know that I'm going to get to my boat on time and that they're familiar with those schedules and I think, is Hilton. The only one or by chance was there another one that was also used by un, the world, I mean, just to have Riting cause I feel a little blinds a little bit that it can't just be one hotel, I mean, it's a pretty steep price for one night but I mean, we have to do it, we'll do it, but just out of curiosity, if there is one just a little bit lesser in price and, and also what was it? Customer: Well anyways I'll think of it here in a minute for that hotel. Because when I was watching a YouTube, I wanted to be a little familiar once we arrive, cause we've never been to Amsterdam so I wanted to have a little visual and when I did, this girl started to talk about it was a very recent video, and she started to talk about where you go for transportation, and she goes in this area she goes this is we all, a lot of major hotels, have shuttle buses to go to their hotel. And that's what made me think about the Hilton, because I thought well it would be different if it was, if it was called you know, that another name hotel that was not as huge but. Customer: It's kind of like a not a big chain hotel and so maybe I could see where they don't have a shuttle bus and that's what made me think that it's a possibility. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Right. Customer: That like, the Marriott Hiltons. Holiday, and they usually have shuttle buses, you know, for their customers. So, I think that's kinda like in my head on there and then of course, she went on to, you know, go into other transportations. And she didn't mention like, the black lane or anything like that, those agencies that provide transportation. But she went on, and, you know, she showed where the taxi drivers are, where the congregate. Where you can probably catch one and she kinda gave some prices for that time. I think it was more like winter prices like thirty Eros €30 to €40. Customer: And then, and then she goes, and then over here it used to be an old bus station. And those, this is where you can catch an Uber driver. And I was like, wow it's like 123. And so there was quite a lot of options, so I thought, you know, the 97, the 91 Uros it's almost sounds to me like it was a little pricey as well. Not, I'm not faring the price, it's just, I think it was just a little bit, maybe more than I thought. Anyway, and, and I thought well, would it for the same drive? You know, we do a Uber driver or a taxi, a driver. So but then I thought, well what if the hotel has their shuttle. Customer: You know, so, but I guess we'll go ahead and take the Hilton. But just before we say to it, is it just quite possible to see if there's another hotel kind of lingering close by or something that I don't know, I get this feeling we might be stuck with that one, but if there's one that might have, you know, a night accommodation of one night accommodation and, you know, access to also getting to the peer on time. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Okay. Yeah, I can ask you in the world to see if they typically work with other hotels in the area under contract and like you said if they partner with them to see if there's other options out there I can definitely call you and roll to ask that. Customer: Okay. Well then, yeah, if you don't mind you know, other from that, I'd like to make a decision either by the end of the day or if you think by tomorrow, I can make a decision that would be fine. I mean, I'm pretty sure we still have time right now. So sorry, I'm trying to find a, a little bit of a cough that I have here. Customer: If we can you know, have you know if you have until tomorrow or something to get this information that would be great. I don't know how long it would take I know there's a time difference. So yeah. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Yeah, yeah and with you know, world I can get an answer today. But my fear with the hotel property is I yeah, I'm not sure how soon that they'll reply so I can just send the information to them. I'll call you in to see what they tell me and then I can call you back to let you know what I have so far for you. Customer: Okay. And you know I'd like to make a decision on the hotel at least by tomorrow. Ben, does that sound good? Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Yeah, yeah, of course. Again I, it'll just depend on whether or not you want to proceed with or without hearing from the hotel and you know, what they're able to do with transfer. Customer: Yeah, and then, and, and that would be, you know, I just don't want to dance around with too much, you know, what about this, what about that and then it's like, oh, at the end, so I think the transportation one, I feel a little less fearful about it and, and I kinda feel that we might be able to find our way in the event that the hotel doesn't offer a shuttle bus or, you know, which I don't know that's a fifty percent chance but even if they do or don't, I think we could find our way either through a tax or an Uber there and we'll be taking, we'll be having, we'll have Ros on-hand with us to be able to pay and so. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Right. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Right. Customer: I think we might go that route for the transportation on that part and possibly even for the peer to get to the dock in case the hotel you know doesn't have a show for that or that we can't take. Although I did hear that Hilton because uni has contracts with them they use their buses or whatever or their pickup band to pick up the customer. So I'm wondering if we would be denied you know a trip there which, which would be silly because it was it's not like. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Yeah. Customer: It's not like just because we paid for the package minus the hotel. We would have had a hotel but coming from so far away that would be, you know, one day that we wouldn't be able to just hop on the, on the pier as soon as we arrive. Because of the time difference. But anyway, well whatever you think you can find out and towards the end you know, maybe by tomorrow I would like to make a decision. So, that sounds good. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Okay, yeah, yeah, I'll definitely work on this today and I'll reach out to you as soon as I have anything for you. Customer: Okay, and then one last little thing it's, I know I didn't find it or anything. So, I'm pretty sure I'm confident I just, just out of curiosity, we don't need to have a visa or anything like that, because I, that would be, that would be the, and then Switzerland and I don't want to find out, and then one of those countries they require a visa. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): And as of right now there are a Feser requirements for this countries. We do advise guess however, excuse me I'm fighting off a cold as well. Yeah. Customer: Oh, you too. Mine was a viral. Mine was a viral they called it, it's like a flu, like symptom with mine green and then I have a Ling green cough. So we're like, okay, go ahead. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Oh. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Oh, okay, yeah. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Yes. Excuse me. So what we advise guess is just to, you know, periodically check on local government requirements. Cause they're always subject to change. These vendors do a pretty good job and advising guess but at the end of the day, you know, they always get that disclaimer out of, you know, it's up to the gas to be aware. You know we don't take responsibility if the guest aren't aware. So, so, so there's a good website let me have you just jot out the name of it whenever you're ready. Customer: Okay. Oh, sure. Okay. Customer: Okay, I've got my pin yet. I got it. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): It's called the, I'm sorry. Let me pull up the exact name. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): So third party called Sherpa but let me see. Customer: Is that S-H-E-R-P-A. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Correct. Pa, travel restrictions. Customer: Restrictions. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): So just type that into Google and it should be the first website or so that pops up. Customer: Oh, okay. Very good. Alright. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): And what you'll see, you'll though you're the right page, because it'll allow you to select your travel dates where you're traveling from where you're traveling to, what kind of passport you have. Like, if it's a US passport or another country and then it'll like, give you all the information that's required for entry into that country. And it'll actually site the sources too, so, it's very, it's very, very tries to be evacuate as possible which is good. Customer: Oh. Customer: Mm-hmm. Customer: Okay. Okay. Okay. Well, I, you know, I thought about that and I know I think rose would have let us know but I may have asked her and said, hey, do we need a visa? And I think she had said no at the time. So, but my husband did ask me cause what we need to be sure, and, you know, cause like, you say, things can change so you just never know. But I will look up this website and you said that they you just plug in your travel time and dates and where you're going and then they'll let you know if they need a visa, right? Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Right. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Yup. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): That's correct. Customer: Okay, alright, very good. Well, okay, well, when I guess when, I'll hear from you you'll send me an email. Okay, very good. Well, thank you Chris. I think that's all, so let's just go ahead and do away with the black lane transportation completely and we're not gonna do that one, and, and you know, it's either gonna be, we're gonna take our chances to see if there's a shuttle bus for Hilton or any other changed hotel that we might be choosing and then and if not, then we'll do a, you know, an Uber driver or taxi to get to wherever we need to get to. So, that sounds really good. Well thank you very much Christopher, I hope you feel better are you taking any Thera flu drink. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Yes, that's correct. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Okay. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Uh-huh yes, exactly. That's what I take you my Bob stores by that. Yeah. Customer: Yeah, I had to take that. Oh, yes, I had to take that. To have a good night sleep because man it was just killing me so we're very good. Well, hope you feel better. Okay, take care of yourself, take a lot of vitamin C. C. Okay, so pull out of it. Alright then anytime Christopher. You too, alright, bye-bye. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Oh, yes. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Thank you I do as well. Agent (Christopher Armendariz): Oh, thank you. Thank you. Will do I appreciate it. Have a good day. Thank you. Bye-bye.
