Full analysis
What happened

Mable called to arrange hotel and transportation logistics for a one-night stay in Amsterdam before boarding a Uniworld river cruise on January 27. She and her husband were arriving January 26 and felt overwhelmed by hotel choice and airport-to-pier logistics. Rose consulted Pavlus's records, identified that the agency had already booked their flights, and proposed booking them at the Hilton Amsterdam with pre-arranged Black Lane transfers from airport to hotel to ship. Rose also addressed Mable's questions about currency exchange, ATM access, and European payment practices. The agent offered to forward the hotel and transfer request to guest relations for a quote before charging. Mable accepted the proposal and agreed to watch for an email from guest relations, with a backup plan to call the main office.

Emotional read

Mable was enthusiastic and warm from the start, expressing genuine delight at hearing from Rose ('Yey!'). Her initial nervousness about Amsterdam logistics was palpable—she used phrases like 'world of confusion' and 'blind'—but her anxiety visibly diminished as Rose provided concrete solutions. By call's end, she was excited and trusting, saying 'I'm excited' and thanking Rose warmly.

Emotional arc through the call

Started grateful and slightly anxious about Amsterdam logistics, warmed considerably after Rose offered concrete solutions (Hilton + Black Lane transfers), and ended excited and trusting.

How customer sees Pavlus
  • positive · praised that Pavlus had already booked their flights and had their air itinerary on file
  • positive · appreciated that Pavlus uses established vendors like Black Lane for transfers and has experience with other Uniworld clients
  • positive · expressed relief and comfort hearing that Pavlus would coordinate everything: 'that sounds so comfortable. I can't even tell you what a relief'
  • positive · felt reassured that guest relations would provide a quote first before charging anything
Value perception

Mable implied strong value in Pavlus's service by contrasting her own uncertainty ('we're kinda like blind') with Rose's confident local knowledge and vendor relationships ('what we normally do when we go to Europe'). She conveyed relief that Pavlus was handling the logistics rather than her navigating alone.

Agent (Rose Morrissey): This is rose. How may I help you?
Customer: Hi rose, it's Mabel brown.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Hi, how are you?
Customer: Very good. Sorry I missed your call. I just got out of classes cause I teach Spanish at a center here. And so I just got into my car and I thought well, let me let's see if I have any messages or who called me. And I see your name and I go Yey!
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Oh, nine.
Customer: But what was your trips rose? Were they good?
Agent (Rose Morrissey): I had, I got one more coming up. We leave Saturday and come back on the fifth, come back to work on the sixteen and that is the, that's the longer trip, that's the vacation, the other one was a long a weekend trip to to see my, yeah, yeah. That was really nice. Yeah.
Customer: Oh.
Customer: Oh.
Customer: Oh, how nice! Wow! I've been to.
Customer: Yeah, back in 2010, I think it was 2010 or 2009 and loved it. So but I thought, well I don't know if we're going to go back again cause Bruce was working in Seattle at the time so it was a lot shorter trip from Seattle to Hanauer. So that was not bad but anyway, so we're looking at the, at the Amsterdam, I mean I'm sure we still have time but I thought you know, I'd like to see about arranging that. We're kinda nervous because we're like, we've looked at the map and saw some hotels but we were very unsure, well, you know, which one should we go for? We don't want anything too expensive or too pricey cause it's just for one night but.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, uh-huh.
Customer: You know, one that, that's not bad either and we're also concerned about transportation. So maybe it's a hotel that can arrange transportation that's familiar with people having to take a cruise and can, you know, order us a ride or whatever they need to do. So, I'm wondering if maybe, you know anything about that or what we could do the.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Is this for in connection with your biking cruise? Is that what the one we're talking about?
Customer: No, it's at unit world. It's the unit world.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay. Okay.
Customer: It's that river the one that we arrive in Amsterdam and we're going to be on that Antonette river boat. So, we're going to be there a day before so, the, we leave the twenty fifth we arrived the twenty sixth and the twenty seventh is when we mm-hmm.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, hold on a second.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Hold on a second.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Let me, let me pull up your record because.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): So you're doing uni world and we also did your flights and the flights you're leaving, leaving on the fifth twenty fifth, arrive there on the twenty sixth, okay, and the cruise is not till the 27. Let me see, yeah, 27. So we need to book a, did we book a hotel for you yet? Not yet.
Customer: Right.
Customer: Mm-hmm.
Customer: Seventh.
Customer: We haven't yet, we haven't yet, and we looked at some but, you know, they could be a little confusing cause we've never been there you know, things like that or how far is it or, you know, from the peer.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Well, what we could do, well, let me find out from uni world what hotel they use in? And then.
Customer: I think I read it was a Hilton but I don't, you know, unless there's another one.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Well, if it's a Hilton, oh, Hilton and Amsterdam. Yes, they do use the Hilton at the Amsterdam. I have, I've got some clients that are staying there and, and what we're doing with those clients, they, what we did we Pross also booked a black lane transfers from the airport to the hotel, hotel to the ship.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Oh, my goodness. Okay. Is that a company or is it part of the hotel? Yes, I we want to have at least that accommodation.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, and then that's what you want.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): No, no, no, it's a, it's a company that does transfers in Europe that we use. Yeah, yeah, it should not be a problem. Hold on a moment, so 515 so we want a world. Hold on.
Customer: Okay, okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): 355727 hi, okay, need one pre night Hilton.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Amsterdam night with transfers from airport to hotel to shit.
Customer: Yes.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay, so what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna email this to my guest relations and you'll get a reply that they're working on it. They'll reach out to you and give you a quote first before they charge anything.
Customer: Alright.
Customer: Alright.
Customer: Okay, that would be good, yeah, we want to know how much. So it's gonna be all prepaid, so when we get there, just so I know how it runs. So they're gonna know they're gonna know when we arrive and I guess they would have like little cards with our names or whatever.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yup.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Uh-huh.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yes, yes. Out, outside of your baggage claim area. Yeah.
Customer: And then oh, that sounds so comfortable. I can't even tell you what a relief to hear this because I told her what in the world that we're gonna, we're gonna arrive there, we're gonna look for a taxi but then we're not sure and then somebody says, oh, no, take this. I said we're going to be in a world of confusion. And so, you know, and we still have other questions. But, you know, just simple questions like, you know, I. guess with the money exchange, I was reading about Amsterdam and lots of places there in Europe. And they're more inclined to take a car hard, like, a, like a credit card. I think it is, then they are to use cash, you know? They don't, they're not doing the rose too much. They do what you phone.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): No, no, no.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yes.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): To use a.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah. Yeah, I can, I, credit card is actually better up in, in those areas that and you can use cash, you can use zeros and you can actually get al. out of their E-A-T-M but you have to let your bank know that that's what you're going to do. Yeah, so, what we normally do when we go to Europe is, when we arrive at the airport, there's an ATM right there, I usually use my my card and get my, my ATM card and get out.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Alright.
Customer: Okay, okay.
Customer: Mm-hmm.
Customer: Is it a better, is it a better way to get the most out of your money is to do it there? Okay, for the exchange rate. Okay, it's a better exchange rate. Okay, I got you. Okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Exchange rate, it's a better exchange. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, or, or you could use your credit card to purchase anything. At least that way you have a what do you call it way to track your yeah, receipt and all that. Yeah, mm-hmm okay.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: A receipt or, yeah, okay, okay. Alright. We might still get out a little bit just enough to just to have for change or whatever before we like take out maybe $300 worth of rose just to have and then try the cause I'd hate to find out the ATM does it work for us or something. But I will call, I will talk with the bank the bank that we bank with, you know, it's not like a, like, I'm talking to Wells Fargo. This is like a, a normal Texas bank. Frost bank. They've been around for years.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Customer: And you know, is they're very personable. So I've been banking for years and years and for too many years. But anyway I will call them and they will Notate that, you know we're going on this trip and most likely we will be using an ATM and, and I guess go from there but I think just to, maybe just to cash out a little bit just for our trip just in case. Cause, you know, you just never know, I mean, we may not have time to run into an ATM, exactly, okay, alright, so.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Uh-huh, right.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Right.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): You never know. It just take you, yeah, just get, just get $300 $400 that way you have money already when you arrive to spend, okay? And then you know, and also, you know, when you're at the Hilton they will tell you what is the closest ATM to go to, to get you know, more rose. Yeah, mm-hmm. So and then when you're at the Hilton, when you're at the Hilton, you'll see other unit, unit, world customers.
Customer: Okay.
Customer: Yeah. Oh, okay. Okay.
Customer: Okay. Okay, very good and.
Customer: Oh, that would be fantastic. Okay, alright, that sounds really good. Okay, and we're gonna pack light, we're gonna pack light so we'll have each a suitcase not very big and you know, we're just gonna have closed outs that we can mix match or whatever. So we're gonna pack light because after that we're going to stood guard and so now once we're right once we're in babble, hopefully you shouldn't have to worry about me at this point because his family said they're going to pick us up.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Mm-hmm mm-hmm you'll be good. You'll be, yeah, yeah, okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): That's good.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Oh, yeah, that's right. Yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Oh, nice.
Customer: So, yeah, they're going to pick us up and you know, I would imagine in their vehicle. So they're not in a bus or they're gonna do a train. No, they said they're gonna pick us up. So we're going to ride with them.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): So they're gonna pick you up bar, they're gonna pick you up from Bazil.
Customer: Yeah, boss. I say babble but it's bazzle I'm sorry from Bozzo yeah, they're gonna pick us up. Yeah, they are, and.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, yeah all good. That is, no, that's I love that little city. Bazzle I really do. I think it's so quin. Yeah, mm-hmm you love it.
Customer: Oh, wow.
Customer: Well, I wouldn't doubt it if we would stay a night there with them. I mean, you know, just so that we could have a nice time there with them. And you know, cause there, she's kinda like a little touring person, you know, she knows how to go to places and stuff and so, so that, you know, and of course, you know, as far as getting to stud guard airport you know. They're gonna take us and drop us off so we're covered from there and we should be okay. It's just only the answer dam part that you know, just had us a little bit concerned that oh, what are we gonna do live in there? So, you know, we've never been there, so we're kinda like blind and.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Oh, yeah, oh, don't worry. You're gonna, you know, when you arrive there, just go walk around, that's what we did, I've never, we've never been to Amster them, and that's what we did, walk around, you're not, you're not going to get lost. It's really, I felt safe in Amsterdam, yeah, I going around, yeah.
Customer: Yes, that's what we wanna do. Yes. Yeah.
Customer: Okay. Well that sounds really good and, and, and that's our plan is to, as soon as we you know, get into the hotel, drop our stuff there, and we're just gonna go out and you know, just walk around and, and just you know, go and take aside, if we can mm-hmm.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): And ask, you know, just as, at the, ask, you know, the, is what is your favorite restaurant around that area?
Customer: Oh, it's a good idea. Yes. Okay, alright, sounds very good. Well very good. So are you gonna, go ahead. Okay, you're going to go ahead and email it to me. Okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Jay. Alright, so I have my, I'm gonna go ahead and email, yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and email the our guest relations and you will get a message from guest relations that they're working on your quote.
Customer: Okay. Okay, very good, very good, alright.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay, and that would be because we booked, we booked your air. So we have your air itinerary and they are going to book your transfer accordingly.
Customer: Alright.
Customer: Okay. Okay, that sounds really good. Alright, rose, well, I'm glad to hear that, and I'm glad you had a great time and well, we look forward to hopefully having a good time too like you, so.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Okay.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Thank you.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): You will, you will. Okay. Thank you. Talk to you later, okay.
Customer: Okay, it sounds really good. Well thank you rose. And I guess I'll be checking my emails if I don't see my emails or whatever. Do I call the main office because you're going to be leaving pretty soon?
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, just, yeah, just call the main office and ask for guest relations.
Customer: Okay, guest relations, alright. Very good. Okay, well I'm excited.
Agent (Rose Morrissey): Yeah, and then, if they ask what, you know, if they ask what you need to say, rose send in a message regarding transfers and hotel in, in Amsterdam.
Customer: Transfer or.
