Next best action
Within 2–3 business days, Lauren should contact Chris and the guest relations team (Mike, Don) to research pre-cleared airport expediting vendors or VIP services in Barcelona, then send Ed a brief summary of any partnerships, vendor vetting criteria, and realistic ROI expectations for the $1,000–$1,250 price range before his July 30 arrival. If nothing exists, she should provide a brief recommendation on how to vet third-party services (e.g., check reviews, ask for Barcelona-specific references).
Full analysis
What happened

Ed called to ask Pavlus for guidance on hiring an airport expediting or VIP escort service for seven people (including two autistic grandsons) arriving in Barcelona on July 30th before his Celebrity Cruise on August 20th. He's concerned about the sensory and logistical challenges of passport control and European entry procedures, and has found options ranging from $1,000–$1,250 for expedited services to $4,500 for full VIP terminal escort. He provided specific flight details (American 66, JFK to BCN) and asked whether Pavlus has vendor relationships or experience with such services. Lauren acknowledged she was "stumped" and committed to checking with her air department and guest relations team (Chris, Mike, Don) to see if Pavlus has any partnerships or recommendations. Ed appreciated the willingness to help and indicated he has time before the trip. The call ended positively with no resolution yet, but a clear action item for Lauren to investigate.

Emotional read

Ed is pragmatic and solution-focused, showing genuine concern for his neurodivergent grandchildren's wellbeing rather than entitlement. He's collaborative with Lauren, willing to do his own research while hoping Pavlus can provide insider knowledge. He remains warm and appreciative throughout, maintaining a calm demeanor even when expressing frustration about the core problem.

Emotional arc through the call

Ed started calm and collaborative, shared his specific concern and research, and remained appreciative and warm throughout—no shift in emotional state.

How customer sees Pavlus
  • positive · praised Lauren and Pavlus for 'all the good work you've done for me the last couple of days' on a prior booking
  • positive · trusts Pavlus enough to ask them first about niche airport services before relying solely on his own research
Value perception

Ed perceives Pavlus as a trusted advisor who may have insider vendor relationships or experience that he lacks; he hopes they can save him time and reduce risk compared to cold-calling unknown escort companies.

Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Hi, Ed, Lauren. Hi.
Customer: Hi! Hi, I have an unrelated question. All the good work you've done for me the last couple of days this is about a different trip. Well, I'm, as you know, we're doing the celebrity cruise that you booked with with the three cabins and the kids and, and all this, and I've, and I've got two out of my three grandsons are kind of the, on the autistic spectrum. I used to call it as burgers, right. And, and I, I'd see all this crap online about and I know what it's like entering Europe now with the, with the enrollment system and they say that Spain is is is being tough they're not.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Sure. Okay.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Mm-hmm.
Customer: Being gentle on this. Like the port to go and some other countries are kind of waiving the rules and just stamping it through with the new enrollment. And so I'm really concerned that they're gonna get off a plane after all night and being a super noisy environment with passport control. And so we were talking about the possibility of hiring one of those companies that expedite you through and they have them in bar salon they don't guarantee you, they'll get you through faster but they kinda can meet you and all this crap. Is that something that you had guys have any experience with and is there anything that you could do to help us with that, or is that kind of something we should work on on our end and and they'll be afraid to say no it's fine, it's fine.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Mm-hmm.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Oh.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Well, I, it, well, you're kinda, you kinda stumped me. I would just have to check maybe with my air department to see with Chris the manage, our manager to see if they work with any you know, companies I'll reach out to him and ask did they by chance have like a global entry or anything like that the kids.
Customer: Well, that doesn't help in your, that doesn't help in Europe.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Oh, well, no, cause you just have everybody just goes.
Customer: Yeah, yeah, you probably dealt with the way you went into your, with your, with your sister, right?
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Well, when we got to Munich it was a hot mess. We stood in line for like an hour and a half for no re, no, it wasn't. We were the only plane that landed but it was customs that was holding us up cause they took forever. There was not like it, there was a mob see of people but they don't.
Customer: There you go.
Customer: Yeah, but that's the, that's the problem. Yeah, well anyhow anyhow if your team knows anything about it you know I've reached out to a couple and you know they all want $1,000 bill or $1,250 or something for seven people to escort them and I would even pay it if I knew it would avoid you know an hour and a half or two hours of ten standing in a noisy line for these four artistic good but I don't know, I don't know if it's effective or, or worthwhile I've reached out to one but it's and it's, and, and their phone numbers are all in due by and it's like I just want someone that I can.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Yeah.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Well, well, no, that's, that sounds like a scam. But yeah, I would make sure that they're not in Duby. Let me reach out to Chris. Let me, let me dig a little deeper and shouldn't find out and let you know.
Customer: Okay, well, we, we certainly have a little time but I just wanna check, yeah and it and if you, if you, if you need, yeah, yeah and if they need specifics you got a pencil we're flying on, we're flying on American, flight 66 from JFK to BCM and then we arrive on the thirtieth, we're spending two nights in, out of towel before the cruise. The 30th of July the crew starts August 20th.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Okay. Well no, I'll get this over to you so you can kind of look and.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): I got.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Okay, okay.
Customer: And we'll have we'll have seven people and you know probably about seven about, about nine check bags because every website wants to know how many and then about you know, five or six carry-on. So you know cause I'm looking at maybe some kind of a boss. I may work with your team on that too but anyhow anyhow, if you have anything about an escort service or VIP escort, they also have like movie stars do where you, where they pick you up in a, in a van when you get off the plane and take you through a private, a private terminal. But those are $4.5000 I not doing that.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Okay.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Yeah.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Yeah, that's a little, little top secret. Yeah, okay. Well let me check with Mike or with Chris and with don. My guest relation. See if they handled this before and we'll let you know if we could, you know, help you out. Of course.
Customer: I get a little little. Yes, yeah.
Customer: That would be great. Thanks so much Lauren, I appreciate your help.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Oh, my pleasure Ed, you take care. Always nice talking to you.
Customer: Okay, bye-bye.
Agent (Lauren Riesenberger): Okay, bye-bye.
